About the event
This workshop features Traci Hewitt Hobson (Moon Hye Mi), a first-generation biracial Korean adoptee who shares her journey of resilience, identity, and healing. Adopted at age 4 into an African American military family, she lost her native language and the cultural ties to her heritage, growing up without a country to truly call her own. She navigated the challenges of belonging and intergenerational trauma while protecting her children’s heritage. Her recent search for her birth family, recovery of her Korean citizenship, and plans to return to Seoul mark a powerful step in reclaiming her identity. Through her story, she offers hope and inspiration to others seeking to embrace their true selves and take back their narratives.
